Our air-conditioned minivan or bus will pick you up at the pre-arranged location and we will travel north to the Plitvice Lake National Park accompanied by our local tour guide. Our first stop, roughly an hour away, will be at the scenic viewpoint overlooking the charming Dalmatian town of Skradin and the Krka National Park. After a short stop we’ll head up across the inland towards the Plitvice Lakes – the largest and oldest of Croatia’s national parks. It encompasses a total of 16 lakes, inter-connected by a number of impressive waterfalls and streams. On arrival, we’ll begin our walk through the the deep woodland that surrounds Gornja Jezera („upper lakes“) with our private guide, admiring the impressive wilderness all around us. The walkways are steep, but the pace will be set according to the slowest walker so everyone will be able to follow, and the dramatic lakeside views along the way make the effort so worthwhile. Our tour continues with an exciting ride on Donja Jezera („lower lakes“) by electric boat and a visit to the spectacular Veliki slap, a 78-meter waterfall, followed by the unforgettable sound of thundering waterfalls. After our boat ride, we’ll hop aboard an electric train for a finishing tour of the National Park and relax enjoying outstanding panoramas of the terraced lakes, cascading waterfalls and bright green forests. Afterwards, we suggest tasting some of the traditional specialties on an optional lunch in a local tavern, or if you prefer, find a spot in the shade, pack a picnic and enjoy the views. We will return to our destination full of lasting impressions.
