This relaxing wine tasting experience takes you to the hillside above the Kaštela Bay to visit a local winemaker and his beautiful vineyard where you will hear more about the history of winemaking in Kaštela. Afterwards, you will visit the Byblical garden, the Old Olive and than take a minivan tour to see some of the main historic landmarks of Kaštela. After this exciting ride, we will join our winemaker in his home for a wine tasting session accompanied by local delicacies.

Was zu erwarten
Your experience begins as your are picked up from your accommodation in a private minivan and and taken to Kaštela – a wine-making region stretching on the slopes of Kozjak mountain between Split and Trogir. You will visit a famous Kaštela winemaker and take a tour of his picturesque vineyard above the Kaštela Bay. You will find out all about the challenges of introducing a white grape varietal into the Kaštela region, known so far for its autochthonous red grape varieties and special pergola cultivation used in his vineyards, witnessing the tremendous winemaker’s love of his vines. Also, you will learn more about Pošip – the first Croatian white wine that attained a PDO (Protected Designation of Origin) status way back in 1967. Afterwards, we’re taking you to visit the Byblical garden close to the vineyard – a little piece of heaven with 125 plant species mentioned in the Bible with a charming 12th century church in its center. Then we will head back to our minivan again to visit the Old Olive – over 1500-year old olive tree – and take a panoramic ride along the promenade to visit the main historic landmarks of Kaštela: its impressive medieval fortresses at the waterfront. After this exciting ride, we will join our winemaker in his home where you will enjoy wine tasting of different varietals accompanied by traditional local delicacies. Your tour ends with a drop-off at the start point.
